2017 Ethnic Schools Children’s Day – a very successful event

The annual street parade from Light Square to Telstra Plaza at Adelaide Oval was led by the City of Adelaide Pipe Band and concluded with the Marion City Band. 536 students from 22 ethnic schools marched along with school leaders, parents and volunteers who swelled the parade to nearly 650 persons.

Following speeches and the official opening by the Hon. Susan Close MP; Minister for Education and Child Development; a colourful concert was conducted featuring 300 students from 20 ethnic schools.

Students performed traditional songs and dances highlighting great diversity and supporting multiculturalism, languages and their respective cultural heritage.

Our mission: All individuals have the right to maintain, develop, express and share their cultural heritages and all are equally entitled to participate in and benefit from the activities of ethnic schools.
